Once comfortably settled in your car a full day’s excursion will begin leaving the port area of Amalfi and travelling out from Amalfi to reach the motorway which will take us in your desired direction.

Pompei – Positano – Sorrento – take a step back in time when visiting the ancient ruins of Pompei the City which was destroyed by the devastating eruption of the volcano Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Imagine what life must have been like in this ancient city with statues of people as they were found after the eruption, preserved for all time in the lava.
From Pompei our visit takes us along the beautiful coastal road of Amalfi for our visit to Positano . Positano is the best place from which to take some commemorative photographs with splendid scenery that has rocky backdrops to them. This hilly town is also known for its particular fashions and you will find lots of shops to choose from amongst the warren of its streets.
Finally destination would be the town of Sorrento, historic town of the beautifoul Amalfi Coast famous for the production of the Limoncello, located on volcanic rock with numerous hills with views of island of Capri, beautifoul to stroll around the many narrow streets with a unique welcome.

Sorrento – Amalfi – Ravello – driving away from the Port we take the spectacular round out of Amalfi to visit the famous holiday town of Sorrento. Once arrived in Sorrento you can wander around its streets looking at the typical wares it has to offer from the fashionable leather goods to the artistry of its inlaid woodwork objects. Also take time to visit its cathedral and the church dedicated to its Patron Saint, St. Antonino.
From Sorrento we climb up towards the beautiful area of Ravello, which sits above Amalfi. Here there is a wonderful square to while away half an hour, before taking time visit the Villas that this village has to offer..
Once we leave Ravello we take the winding roads back down to visit Amalfi itself having its square dominanted by the Arabian-Norman Cathedral with its impressive mosaic façade. Do some final shopping in the quaint little shops in this town before re-embarking your cruise ship.

Pompei –Herculaneum – Vesuvius – a visit to the world renown archaeological site of Pompei the City that was completely destroyed, being preserved as it was by the volcanic lava, in the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Walk around the streets and houses getting a feel of what people lived like in this bygone age, visit the amphitheatre and imagine the gladiators and lions fighting to the death.
Leaving Pompei we continue our archaeological tour of Herculaneum. This town was also destroyed in the devastating eruption of Pompei in 79 A.D.
Leaving the town of Herculaneum behind us, we take the ever upward road to the volcano itself Vesuvius. This volcano is one that lies dormant for the time being and is constantly being controlled by the specialists for any signs of life. We leave our car at a certain point on the upward climb to continue on foot arriving at the summit for a chance to peer into the crater.

NAPLES CITY –ROYAL PALACE OF CASERTA – start your day with a drive out of Amalfi on the main coastal road before taking the motorway to the City of Naples . Once in the City we have time to visit cultural monuments, churches and the Royal Palace and not to be missed is the underground City that lies beneath. Walk around in the heart of the Neapolitan area passing typical shops and pizzerias.
Continue your day with a drive to the Royal Palace of Caserta in all its splendour. This is built along the lines of the Palace of Versailles in France and you can visit the stately rooms and walk around its majestic gardens.
During your day take time out for a relaxing drink or lunch in one of the many bars and restauarants that we come to during our excursion.
Sorrento – Positano – Capri - Start your day driving away from the Port to take the coastal road into Sorrento. This town is also known as land of the mermaids. Visit the historical centre, the cathedral and the Church of Saint Antonino, the Patron Saint and Protector of the town. Sorrento’s history is steeped in legends of attacks by the Saracens and walk along the wall which once protected the town from invasion. Whilst looking around, why not visit the Limoncello making shop and taste some of the famous liquor made from the local Lemons.
From Sorrento take a trip by sea to visit the beautiful Island of Capri. Walk around the chic shops or take time out in one of the bars. Take time to visit the Blue Grotto with its spectacular colours bouncing off the particular rock formations in this grotto. This island is a holiday treat for the famous and who knows, it might be the chance to meet someone from the ‘big screen’
Rejoining our driver and car on the return to Sorrento we again take the coastal road to visit the lovely fashionable town of Positano built down from the rocks. Along route there will time to stop for photographs of the spectacular scenery that you encounter before being able to walk around the streets of this hilly town.

Paestum – Salerno City –The Greek navigators in the 7th Century B.C. built this area which is a famous archaeological site, walk around the Temple of Neptune (God of the Sea) from the 5th Century and learn more about the mythical Gods.
Staying in Paestum there is time to visit the Mozzarella Factory where you will see this world famous cheese being made and get to taste some. This area is very famous for the Buffalo mozzarella.
Continue into the City of Salerno visiting its churches and monuments and also be told about the Artistic light display that is here during the Festive Season.
Take time out to have a relaxing lunch during the day in one of the many restaurants along route.
Sorrento Countryside – Amalfi Coast – meeting your driver and car at the Port of Amalfi we drive towards the countryside surrounding Sorrento and drive along to the village of Massa Lubrense and then take the road down to its picturesque Marina where you can see the fishermen tending their nets. From here we drive further up into the hills to S. Agata sui due Golfi before taking the scenic road out of Sant’Agata and continuing along the spectacular Amalfi coast road into Amalfi when there will be time to stop and take photographs of the breathtaking backdrops along this route.
Leaving the fantastic landscapes we have seen in the countryside behind, us we return to Amalfi to visit its town and majestic cathedral that rises up in the square. There are many shops and ice cream parlours which can be visited before rejoining your cruise ship.
During the day stop and have a relaxing lunch in anyone of the many typical restaurants.
Amalfi – Vietri sul Mare – Ravello – This is a wonderful day taking in some of the jewels of the Amalfi coastline. Firstly we take the upward winding roads to visit Ravello which sits above Amalfi and has fantastic views of the bay below. Ravello has a lovely picturesque square surrounded by shops and bars on all sides. Visit the two Villas that can be found here admire the wonderful views from the Villa Rufolo, the larger of the two, and its magnificent gardens.
Descending from the hills we make our way to Vietri sul Mare and visit this area which houses a museum dedicated to the artistic ceramic industry and why not take advantage and find an authentic souvenir to take home with you.
Returning to Amalfi we have time to walk up the many steps that lead from the square to visit the Arabian-Norman Cathedral with its mosaic façade. Leave time to visit the local shops that enclose the square to buy some souvenirs before re-embarking on your cruise ship.

Herculaneum – Naples City – Start your day with a visit to Herculaneum, the town that was destroyed alongside Pompei in the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D. After visiting the archaeological site and imagining how life was in days gone by we continue our day with a stop in the City of Naples.
Once in the heart of the Neapolitan City we have to time to visit its churches with all their history and Saints, majestic monuments and the caverns that form the underground City. Take a leisurely walk along the ‘Spaccanapoli’ the road which literally divides the City in two and look at some of the old crafts that are still used to make some of the City’s souvenirs.
